The Story of the Sugar Shack
Back in the 60’s this building was a honey extracting house, Gerry Macadoo had a lot of bees. When he decided to go out of business he told Harry he could have it. So Harry took it all apart and made this building for my hundreds of baby chicks. When I cut back on chicks it became a shed to store tractors, snowmobiles, etc. When our kids moved back from Manitoba they stored all their furniture etc. in it, till they built their house.
Then I said I want to make it into an antic house, so we began. Got the cedar siding from the old home place across the road. The door off my bedroom, all the old trim around the door, windows and the attic hole. Then we both sheeted it inside with new plywood. After that I gave it 3 coats of paint, and sponged 2 walls. Got a piece of used rug put it down and bought tile for the kitchen area. A lot of hard work.
Then the fun began it was time to move all the things I had stored up for years into their new house, made curtains etc. It also was used for sleep overs, a friend called it her own private motel. It was all finished in 2000.
I have really enjoyed it very much all these years, very hard to part with it. 🙁
